The Day After The Day After

Good Saturday morning to all. I don't know about the rest of you but yesterday I felt like the Tin Man from the Wizard of OZ. I could barely move I hurt from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I do believe I spent a little to much time on my feet preparing holiday cheer for my family. With having fibromyalgia I have to be careful and some times I push myself to hard and really pay for it later but I must say yesterday when my family told me how much they appreciated all I had done and how wonderful Christmas was it really made all the pain worth it (ok almost...lol).

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that your family was as gracious with their thank yous for all your hard work. I am so greatful that my hubby and daughter will be home until after the New Year I just love having them around.

I will be back very soon with cards and ATCs I am signed up for two Valentine ATC swaps and my resolution for 2009 is to start early on my swaps and not have to pay the extra postage to get them there last minute (wish me luck). I am also going to try to do at least one challenge card a day from SCS or any where as that goes. Right now my stamping area is a disaster and not just from holiday maddness. I hardly have enough space to turn around. My hubby said I need another work table and hopefully we will be picking one up next week. Once my family goes back to work/school I will have the time to reorganize my work area which I hope will put me in the creating mood and also help me stick to my resolutions.

Well that is all for now please enjoy what ever time you can with your family and don't forget it will all be back to normal soon (what ever that is).

Peace Out

Happy Friday I am sorry this is a late post but I was having problems posting earlier so hopefully it will work now. This card is the second one I made for the sketch challenge on SCS ( I just turned it side ways and it also meets the color challenge from the following day. I was happy with the way it turned out and who dosen't need an extra holiday card. I really am enjoying the Martha Snowflake punch it is so versital.

We are going to be busy this weekend decorating our home inside and out. My dh will be on vacation next week and I have many, many projects for him (shhhhh he doesn't know yet...he he he) I am sure all of you will be busy as well especially since there is only one more weekend after this one until Christmas arrives. I do love Christmas and all that goes with it but I must confess that the day after Christmas is really my favorite time. I can sleep in, wake up and stay in my PJs all day. I can relax have a cup of tea and a few Christmas cookies. It seems as though while I am baking and giving the cookies I really do not indulge in them but the day after Christmas look out...lol. It is also nice to have my daughter and husband home with me just chillin' out.

I hope you all have a wonderful and productive weekend and that you are able to accomplish what you want and need to do. It seems that the older I get the more I realize that you can only do so much. My motto now is if it does not get done before the holiday it was not that important any way. I find that this works quite well these day. Take the time to enjoy the little things as you build the future memories for you and your family.

As soon as I saw the sketch challeng on SCS (CS206) I knew which set I was going to use. The bee from Bug Me Anytime was the perfect stamp to fit in the 1 1/4 circle punch from SU. If you have not checked out There She Goes Stamp Store please take a look at this site. Jessica has some great sets and you can't beat her prices. You can click on the site name in the right hand column of my blog. I also used one of the polka dot stamps from Polka Dot Hello this stamp can be used to create a row of polka dots as long as you need it to be. Jessica is a great gal and her spirit and generosity are just wonderful so stop on by today.

Can you believe Christmas is 2 weeks away? Whaaaaat!!!! We do not have our tree up yet but will be putting it up this weekend. Next weekend my daughter and I will be baking until we do not have any more room to put the goodies. My daughter is always so generous and now that she is a Senior in HS we give homemade goodies to every teacher and staff member that she has had contact with over the last four years. It is a great feeling to know you can bring some holiday cheer and thank all the wonderful teachers and staff who are so dedicated to the educating of our children.

Well that is all for now I hope you have a great day. You may want to head over to Split Coast for the limited supplies challenge that takes place every Thursday. Until next time take care and happy stamping.

Other-Cello Bag, Santa Cup (Michael's), Cocoa Mix, Tiny Marshmellows, Homemade
Silver Cord (SU), Two Hole Ribbon Punch (SU), and Paper Crimper

Hello everyone happy Wednesday. I can not believe how fast the days are flying by and that Christmas is literally just around the corner. Every year at this time I just shake my head in wonder as to where did the year go. My wonder and disbelief of time gets even greater when I think about the fact that my baby girl Chloie will be graduating from high school in May of 2009. Ok when the heck did this happen!!!! I guess the real point is that every day is a gift and we must make the best of what we have.
I hope all of you take a moment during this very busy season to count your blessings. I think once you begin you will be surprised how many you have.
Hope you have a wonderful day and find some time to relax and stamp. I hope to be back tomorrow with another project until then take care of yourself.

Say It Aint So......

Supplies:
CS: SU Real Read, Basic Blace and Whisper White
Ink: SU Creamy Carmel
Ribbon: Michaels
Pearls: unknown source
Image: many images can be found be searching Vintage Christmas on line

Can it really only be three weeks from Christmas? Where has this year gone? Let's all take a deep breath and get ready for a wonderful holiday season....come on we can do this...lol. Yesterday my husband found out that there will be a wage freeze for 2009. At first he was upset until I reminded him that we are blessed he still has a job. After we talked for a while we both realized that we had so much to be thankful for. I think with the way things are right now we all need to take a moment and be grateful for what we have and not worry about what we don't have. There are truly always blessings to count.

OK now down to the business of stamping. This card is an ATC card which measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/2. I have mentioned before that I am totally addicted to these cards and I love participating in the swaps for them. The theme for this swap was Vintage Christmas. I found this image hidden away on a tag I had made several years ago in a class and thought it would be perfect for this ATC swap. I photo copied the image which made the colors look more faded and then got busy with my cards. I distressed the edges and then sponged them with ink to make them look more aged. Then I added black velvet ribbon and pearls to give it even more of a vintage look. I can not wait to receive the swaps back and see what everyone else has done. I really do enjoy doing card swaps it gives me a chance to see all the creativity of other stampers.

I hope you enjoy your day and that you find time to stamp. Split Coast Stampers is a great site to visit for daily challenges as well as to find card swaps of all types. If you have the time and have not done so give it a try I think you will enjoy it. Take care and see you all tomorrow.

Long And Lean

Supplies: White Glossy CS
Basic Black & Pretty in Pink ink SU
Snowflake Punch Martha Stewart
Sheer Pink Ribbon SU
CBEF Swiss Dots
SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Xyron Sticker Maker

Good morning to all I can not believe that it is already Wednesday. I think we all wish that right now we could slow the days a bit because Christmas is coming fast and furiously. Oh well as I have gotten older my new motto is "If it doesn't get done in time it could not have been that important"...lol. I have really learned to slow down and enjoy the time with friends and family instead of being in such a frenzy that I miss the true meaning and joy of the holiday.

Today's card is a long one and I don't usually do cards like this but I got some card blanks this size with a magazine I picked up. I decided I needed to use one for this project so I could really make my tree tall and showcase these snowflake punches. I got the idea from the Impress site and thought it was another way to use these snowflakes. There tree was a little shorter than mine. I don't think the photo does it justice especially since I decided to go with the soft pink that sparkles from SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The ribbone has a beautiful sheen to it as well. If you enlarge the picture you can see all the sparkle that I could not capture on the regular size photo. I also think my tree began to lean to the right a bit so I tried to compensate with a greeting and some Dew Drops which did help a little I think.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Hope you have a wonderful day and don't forget to take some time out to take a deep breath and enjoy the Season.

I did this card while I was gone it is the CC195 triangle fold medallion challenge at Split Coast. My first attempt was not so great but my second turned out well I think. If you have never been to Split Coast Stampers site you must stop in and check it out. Every one I have met their is so wonderful and talented. Doing the daily challenges gets you stamping at least once a day and how could that be bad...lol.

I hope to be back tomorrow with another post so in the mean time have a great day and happy stamping.

4077 MASH....That is All

Short and late post today because I have been having bad headaches. I think I may have a sinus infection....aaaaaaaacccckkkkk. Oh well any way this is a card I made for a friend who is a big fan of MASH. Funny thing is my 17 year old dd has been a fan for a long time also. I had fun making it even though I think my letter and number stickers are a little slanted....he he.

I hope I will be feeling better soon because I need some cards to post..lol. Have a great week!!!

I was not completely happy with the first pic of this card because you could not see the clear glitter/snow under the tree. I am not sure if this pic is any better but it its what it is.

Hope you all have a great weekend and that you find a little time to stamp.

Take Some Snow, A Hat, A Carrot....Well You Know

Snowman ATC

Supplies: CS-SU Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black
Ink SU
Stamp: SU
Ribbon: Black Velvet-Michael's
Misc: Snowflake Brad, Clear and Blue Bling Square Punch Scallop Punch and CBEF
Swiss Dots
Photos taken by Chloie

Good Thursday Morning to everyone. What is it about snowmen that make us all go aaaawww? There are a vast number of images and the creative choices are unlimited. Is it that they bring back our childhood memories of playing with our friends and family in the snow and the crisp cold air. Is this when our creativity started with endless possibilities? I am not totally sure but no matter if they are perfect or goofy looking we all seem to love snowmen.

I made this ATC for a swap I am in. The hardest part of doing a snowman card is deciding which image to use because I have collected so many of the years. From lone snowmen to groups of snowmen I love them all. This image is from SU and I like his shape and the wonderful smile on his face. The other reason I chose him is because he is the perfect size for an ATC. This card is my sample I am backing the finished swaps with BB CS to add a bit of a frame and make the RR pop. I hope you like this card and it makes you smile.

Here in Phoenix we do not get snow so I have seen people build snowmen (or the likeness of) out of tumble weeds. It is quite the site but cute all the same. If you live in cold country I hope that you will get out with your children this winter and build at least one snowman. Heck even if you don't have children get yourself out there and make some memories. Oh and don't forget the snow angels. Have a great day and I will see you later.

All That Glitters ATC

Supplies: CS-SU

DP-Unknown

Stamp & Ink-SU

Flower Punch Large-SU

Ribbon-SU

Misc.-Paper Piercer, Pink Floss, Dymo Label Maker, Small Flower punch, ' 1/4" punch Circle Punch' 'Buckle Punch' & Clear Tape

Technique-Glitter Window

Hello again everyone hope you are having a wonderful day. My card today is another ATC (told you I was addicted) from a swap a I did called All That Glitters. I used the Glitter Technique see tutorial at SCS: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/glitter_window/ for the punch out of the large flower and then used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter from SU. I really love the sparkle this gives to a card and it is a very simple technique that requires a minimum of supplies On my sample card I pierced and stitched the top and botten but on the final cards for the swap I used pink bling instead. Many times I end up changing my mind after making my sample card because I feel the cards need a little some thing else. Isn't that the beauty of stamping and creating? I must admit though that some times I do not know when to stop...lol.

I hope that you will think about trying a new technique even if it is not this one. It is always good to learn something new and to challenge ourselves. What do you have to lose? If you want try the technique on a piece of scrap paper as to not waste your CS. Have a great day and don't foreget to follow your dreams.

Time Keeps On Slipin', Splipin', Splipin' Into The Future

Flower Power
Supplies: CS-SU
DP-unknown
Other Supplies-Silk Flowers, Corduroy Brad, SU Piercing Mat and Tool, Gel Pen and
Square Punch.

Hello and Happy Monday. This is a card that I made a while ago and it was one of those quick, quick cards made mostly with scraps. I do not remember the exact size but it is a square card which I really enjoy making. I also enjoyed the piercing which I think in this case I did free hand and it gives a more hand made look as oppose to having the perfect rows that come from using a template. I used a gel pen to give a faux stitch look.

My title today refers to the fact that I have not been able to find time to stamp the last few days (with the exception of a quick 3x3 gift card). This is the reason I had to post a card I made a while ago. I have a swap that must, must be done today so I must, must make time to get it done today...lol. I hope that you have been able to find time to stamp in the past few days and that you will be able to find the time today. Have a great day.

Yummy, Yummy Cupcakes

Cupcake ATC swap
Supplies: CS-SU
Ink: Versamark
Ribbon: Michael's
Stamp: SU
Bling: unknown
Other: Liquid Applique, Paper Crimper, SU scallop punch

Good Sunday morning to all. I woke up this morning to a very rare site in my neck of the woods CLOUDS. We do not get very many cloudy days here so I must say when we do they are very welcomed especially during those long hot relentlessly sunny days of summer. I must say though even this time of year we welcome the clouds. It makes me feel like sleeping in, baking, cooking up some homemade soup, and curling up with a good book. I grew up in the Midwest and never thought I would be saying that I love a cloudy day...lol.

Well I have another ATC card for you today from a swap I did awhile ago. The theme was any thing cupcake. At the time I did not own a cupcake stamp (I know gasp!!!) but never fear now I probably own to many (as if that could be possible..he he). So I had to make a pattern and the little cupcake on this ribbon inspired me. In fact it inspired me all the way through this project right down to the frosting on top which is Liquid Applique. Instead of heating the LA I let it air dry and it dries to a glossy finish. If you have not worked with this wonderful and versatile product give it a try. If you use your heat gun to dry it, it puffs up and looks like snow, frosting, popcorn, etc. Or you can as I did let it dry on it's own and it dries to a wonderful glossy finish. It is hard to see but I used my paper crimper on the cupcake paper base and then sponged some ink to highlight the ridges. I really had a great time creating this little card (all ten of them).

Whether it is sunny or cloudy where you are today I hope you make the most of this day. I hope you will be able to find the time to stamp some thing. I am hoping to finish some of the SCS challenges I started but did not finish from this last week. I am having lunch with my dh, dd, and a very good friend today which I am really looking forward to. Have a great day.

Let's Do The Polka.....Dot That Is

Polka Dot ATC Swap
Suppplies: CS-SU
Stamps-Inkadinkado
Ribbon-Michael's
CBEF-Swiss Dot
Pearls-unknow

Happy Saturday everyone hope all is going well for you. This card is from an ATC swap I did with some SCS gals last month. I think it is obvious that the theme was Polka Dots which I love. As I have said before I just love, love, love these little cards. They are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 so it is a great way to use up all your scraps and as I mentioned in my last post you can get 10 cards from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of CS. All I can say is that if you have not tried them you need to give it a go I don't think you will be sorry you did other than the fact that you may become addict like I did....lol.

I went to JoAnn's today because I had a 50% off coupon to use up. Well all the stamping and scrapbook supplies are on sale. I purchased corner punch from EK success, a 1' Fiskars circle punch (I just love their squeeze punches so easy on your hands), a Sizzix holiday die cut that has a penguin, a reindeer and an angel, and the I found some sticky felt snowflakes in the $1 bin. The cashier said I saved $34 and I didn't even have to use my coupon. Talk about a great day to shop...lol.

Well that's all for now I am headed upstairs to my stamp room and get started on my ATC swap cards. I am in four swaps right now and need to get busy but because they are small they do go pretty fast. Take care and happy stamping to you all.

Peace Out,

Debbie

I'm Addicted....to ATCs

ATC Card Supplies: Stamps-Bella and SU
CS-SU
Markers-SU
Ink-Versamark & SU
Sticker Bling-dollar bin JoAnns

From the very first time I made these wonderful little cards I was hooked. For those of you who may not know ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards and they have been around for quite a while in the artistic world and then made there way into the stamping community. I have been in several swaps with these little gems and I am now very addicted to creating and trading them. I think the best part of these cards is being able to get 10 of them from one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 CS see this tutorial here http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/tcdiag.htm . Another plus is that making them is a great way to use up all those scraps of paper you have been stashing away like a chipmunk stashes away his acorns. I urge you to give these little babies a try and I think you will really enjoy them. They are easily stored in sheets made for storing baseball cards and can then be put in a three ring binder.

The ATC card I have chosen to show you today is from a Bella holiday swap I did last year with my friends from SCS/CC. I did not have any Bella stamps so my friend Amanda stamped this image for me so I could participate in this swap isn't that sweet. I received some wonderful Holiday ATCs in return in this swap.

I hope that if you have not tried this type of card I have at least planted the seed to do so. No matter what you chose to do just have fun. Have a great weekend and happy stamping.

Peace Out
Debbie

If You Build It Hopefully They Will Come

Well I finally built myself a light box from white 12 x 12 CS and I think it helps make my pics a little better. I do not have the best digital camera in the world but it will do for now I guess. I know I have seen some awesome pics of cards on other blogs and come to find out they have some pretty pricey equipment. Well maybe some time in my future I can look forward to that..lol.

I will give you the deets later on this card but I do want to let you know that the silver disc is made out of the top of a can of peanuts run through my CB using a smal EB. I had heard of others using this technique and was amazed at the results when I tried it. I had to put the card at an angle so not to have the flash blur the image I hope you can see the details and how shiney it makes the silver foil look. If you click on the card you can see a larger image and see the details better.

Well that is all for today I am working on the sketch challenge from yesterday at SCS. For some reason I was blocking yesterday and just could not finish the card. Hopefully I will finish it today and post it tomorrow. I had not done the challenges on SCS for quite a while and I am happy to start back up again it is always so much fun. Hope you can find time to stop in and give them a try or a least find the time to stamp some thing. Have a great day.

SCS Challenge CC191

Supplies: Stamps There She Goes-Branching Out
CS-SU-Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red
Ribbon-American Crafts
Misc-red bling, pink dew drops, CBEF & photo corner die

Ok I said I would post again today to show you what I did with the SCS challenge CC191. This is the color challenge and the colors that were called for were SU's Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red.

I wanted to make a holiday card and as I was looking at the Branching Out stamp set from There She Goes http://thereshegoesstore.com/default.aspx I thought the tree branch stamp turned upside down looked like a Christmas Tree stand. Soooooooo I gave it a try and I also used the regular leaf stamp because I thought the top leaves looked like a star. As I built the Christams tree I did not ink the last two leaves so I could stack the stamp three times and have it look like a Christmas tree. I love when you can take a stamp meant for one thing and use it in a completly use it in a different way.

I hope you like this and it will inspire you to take a look at some of your sets that have been lying around and give them a spin in a different directions.

Peace Out
Debbie

IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Supplies: CS SU really rust, old olive & tempting turquoise. Wire SU. Ribbon from Michael's. Flowers shrink plastic. Brads unknown. Tools CB BGF & Sizzix Flower Die.

Well it is finally over and I believe it does matter if your candidate won or not it is time for us to come together as a country and begin the healing process. May God bless us and give our new leader the wisdom to lead us as a country and a people to better times.

Ok on to more fun things like stamping...lol. I did the SCS color challenge yesterday but need to snap a pic so I will post it later today. The card I posted today I made a few months back and sent to an SCS friend. I used shrink plastic which I forget some times how much fun it is to use and it is also an inexspenive way to make your own embellishments. I used my CB and a Sizzix die that had small and large flowers on it. I colored the flowers with chalk before shrinking. I put brads in the center of the flowers after shrinking. Just remember to punch any holes you need before shrinking. I also used colored wire that I wrapped around a chop stick to give it a finished look. I used the SU scalloped punch then stamped my sentiment on it and then shrunk it as well. This card was much better to see in person sorry for that.

I really had fun using the shrink plastic and if you have some in your stash pull it out and give it a go. If you have never tried it give it a try it is fun and easy. You can usually find it at your local craft store. OBTW I used my heat gun to shrink the plactic but you can also follow the instructions that come with the shrink plastic and shrink it in the oven. Have fun and have a great day.

Peace Out

Debbie

Make It Count

Supplies: CS BB & RR from SU, sentiment stamp unknown, ribbon Michael's, SU punch, various embellie and Pop Rocks candy.

I am not one to discuss politics normally but today all I will say is if you are 18 years old or older please get out and VOTE. It is not for me to know who you vote for but I ask you to just do it. We live in a FREE COUNTRY where we have the right to vote for who we chose and we must put our faith in the system even if things don't always turn out the way we had hoped. And hey if nothing else you can get a free doughtnut at Krispie Kreme and a free cup of coffee at Starbucks aah only in America...lol.

Have a great day and I hope you find a little time in this long and crazy day to stamp.

I Need Better Photos

Supplies: sentiment stamp SU, floral stamp unknown (was sent to me by SCS friend), CS blk SU, pink cs unknown, ribbon
Michael's, embellies unknown.

Good Monday morning to you all. First of all I apologize for the pictures of my cards I know they are not of the best quility. I need to make a photo booth for myself and I am not quite sure why I have not yet. I don't think this photo shows the wonderful contrast of the black and pink which is a combo that I love. I hope to have better pictures for you in the near future.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying the wonderful fall weather. Here in Phoenix that means temps in the 80s and 90s and trust me we are more than gratfeul. Since we do not have the change of Seasons here it seems that the Holiday Season sneaks up on us without warning. I was in Michael's yesterday and they were in the transition from Fall to Winter. Oh my it was quite the mess in there but of course that did not stop me from roaming aroung. I often feel sorry for the employees of the craft stores it seems like any more we roll right from one holiday to the next with out any time in between.

Well that is all for today and I hope to be back tomorrow with some better pictures. Hope you all have a wonderful week and you get to stamp and do some challenges. Until next take care.

Peace Out

Debbie

Time to Move On

Here are two of the six cards I made for a friend on SCS who does not always have time to make cards but likes to send hand crafted cards to friends. I had a good time making these. I had a 6 X 6 stack of cordinating DP with matching sayings, letters and embellies. I added a few embellies and ribbon of my own. I was pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Wow it is time to flip the page on your calenders and turn back the clocks. I can not believe Halloween is over. We are now onto the next holiday...gobble, gobble. I must say I do so enjoy Thanksgiving it is such a wonderful time and holiday. Time to give pause, give thanks, and enjoy wonderful food with our family and friends. With all that is going on in the world right now I think we need to gve thanks for all our blessings every day. Yes even on your worse day I am sure you can find something to be grateful for.

That's all for now I hope you have a wonderful fall weekend. Oh and don't go sneaking around in your childs stash for all the good candy....he he.

Peace Out,

Debbie

Happy Halloween...Boo to You!!!!!

This is a card I sent to a good friend of mine for her birthdy CS is SU, ribbon Michael's, not sure where the stamps are from.

A happy Halloween to you all. I don't know about you but this card reminds me of how SCAREY it is to be in a bathing suit so I thought this would be an appropriate card to Halloween.....ha ha. Thank goodness the season is over!!!!

At first I was a little sad this morning realizing that this is the end of Halloween cards and goodie packages on everyone's blogs. Then I thought about sitting in my driveway tonight passing out treats to all those cute little costumed kiddies. Since my dd is now 17 she no longer goes out but sits with me passing out candy. We get as many glow sticks, earings, etc. as possible and hand out candy. We always have a great time and I am sure this year will be no different.

Last night my dd and I sat together and tried to remember all the costumes she has worn over the years. I was so glad that she had such great memories of her costumes and the fact that I would dress up as well. I just loved being the Home Room Mom. Bringing goodies to the children always brought them joy but I think my joy was even bigger. I do miss those days gone by but I am so glad to have the wonderful memories. My dd wants to be a teacher and I think she will make a great one. If she should decide to be a grade shcool teacher I know I will be right in there helping her with all the holidays. Any time I can work with children I feel blessed. So to all the Mom's who give their time to the children I applaud you and please know you are creating memories the children will never forget.

Peace Out

Hello Friends

CS is SU I stamped the flowers with Versamark on Cameo Coral. I stamped the dots with a pencil eraser on the Barely Banana to coordinate with the dots on the DP (I don't remember the brand). I covered a chip board letter with CS' The flower was made with two scallops punched from a SU punch . I hope you like it

I don't know about you but I have found the most wonderful people in the stamping/crafting community. There seems to be a bond that happens when we meet each other. Most of us also seem to know that our projects and our talents are given to us by a higher power. I feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful and extremely talented people. I am always so inspired by the people in this community and I am touched by their generosity.

Next time you visit a blog or stop by someone's gallery don't forget to leave some love. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a newbie we all need to know that what we do matters and we all seek the approval of our fellow crafters.

Well that is all for today except go out and create the best you have and hopefully some one will stop by and give you some love.

Peace Out

Debbie

Happy Wednesday

Ok here is a card I made for my SCS friend Deb for her birthday this Summer. It was the first time I used this stamp. Man I love cupcakes!!!! If I see anything with a cupcake I long to own it. Anyhoooo the DP I purchased at JoAnne's a while back and the CS is from SU. The ribbon is from Michael's. I pierced the turquoise CS and then used a white get pen to make it look like stitching because I am to lazy to get out my sewing machine....LOL'
Wow it's Wednesday!!!! I can not believe that Halloween is Friday. I so love Halloween I always have. As a child it was always a great time. Dressing up, running all over the neighborhood with your friends and trying to collect as much candy as possible in the allowed time. I grew up in Chicago so needless to say there were many a Halloween that we had to wear our coats over our costume. After a while my Mom started buying our costumes bigger so we could wear our coats under our costumes. Getting older had it's advantages but the biggest disadvantage was not being able to go out and Trick or Treat any longer.

Fast forward and now I am a Mom. I am so excited to dress up my baby daughter (she was 7 months old her first Halloween) and take her out to Trick or Treat. She was a little kitty cat and of course looked adorable. I must say every year it just got better I was able to make some of her costumes but we also purchased many as well. Barney, Blue M&M, Blue Power Ranger, Ghost, Vampire, Grecian Goddess etc. I was also always the home room Mom and would make delightful treats for the children and the teachers. Boy do I miss those days.

Fast forward again BLINK and my daughter is 17. Hey when did that happen? I love my daughter and now her and I sit out in our driveway and hand out candy to the kids and saying awwwwww a lot. We also go to the $ store and buy as many glow in the dark items we can find and hang them from the chairs, our necks, our ears and some years we have glow in the dark glasses. The kids get a kick out of it and it makes my daughter so happy because she loves the little ones. She wants to be a teacher. I think she is so suited for the job.

Well I have bent your ears long enough. I just have one last thing to say. If you are blessed enough to have children enjoy every minute of your time together. Yes even the sleepless nights, the dirty diapers, etc. because nothing last for ever. I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween. Oh and don't forget no matter how crabby, dirty, or stinky they get don't forget to give your little ghouls and goblins a big hug and kiss . HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace Out

Just Another Card Post

I did the card base in white so that the quilling would show up better and not get lost. The quilling paper and tool came with the Klutz book. I tore some DP paper and used sheer ribbon form Michael's. This was really fun and really not hard at all. If you don't want to invest in a book you can Google quilling and find many great sites with patterns & instructions. Hope you'll give this a try. Have fun with it.

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone. I just realized the hardest part about posting is trying to come up with a snappy title..lol. As you can see I completely missed that boat today...lol. I am posting another card that I had done over the summer and sent to another of my SCS friends Michelle.

I wanted to try my hand at quilling and I really had fun. I learned a good part of it from a Klutz book. They had plain and simple directions (ok I know simple pleasures for simple minds...ha ha). The great thing about quilling is that you can make some awesome embellishments for your cards and scrapbook pages for not a lot of money. I will be doing this again soon I purchased a kit to make penguins. I think I love penguins as much a I love snowmen. I do know I need to start soon so I can get a few done before the holidays which are currently breathing down our necks get here.

The other day I gave you the blog site for Nan at Pots & Pans (just scroll down). You would be doing yourself a favor by visiting her blog. Beside great recipes and wonderful sewing projects I know you will love her witty stories ( not to mention the most adorable pics of her grandson Max). She is very good at not only making you laugh at her words but also helping you to laugh at yourself. I don't know about you but there are far to many serious things going on in the world right now and we could all use a breath of fresh air which is what Nan and her blog are. So when you have a minute drop on in and say hello to Nan trust me you will be glad you did.

Well that is all for now I will be checking in with you all tomorrow. I hope you have a glorious day and don't forget to count your blessings. I find that no matter how awful I think my day has been I can always find a blessing to be thankful for. Take care.

Peace Out

Hello and good Monday morning to all. I don't believe any one has visited my new blog yet but I think I need to promote it a little m0re vigorously..lol. Maybe I need to come up with some blog candy to attract people here. I guess we will have to see about that.

I am posting another card I made a while back. I need to pull some more of my pictures of my cards from my dd's computer she was managing things for me while I did not have a computer. Man I love that girl of mine she always supports and encourages me. Of course I am her biggest fan as well. She is 17 and filled with love for her parents and does not mind being seen with us and never has....gasp. Imagine that...lol.

Last Sunday of October and ATCs

Wow can you believe it this is the very last Sunday of October. Next Saturday will be November 1st. I am not sure where this year has gone. The holiday season is upon us...yikes!!!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I am the weather here is just beautiful this is the weather we suffer through summer for. I feel very blessed to live here expecially when winter really hits hard in the midwest.

I have decided to post a couple of ATCs from a swap I did this Summer. The theme was wedding. We had to do one for the ceremony and one for the reception. It was fun I just love those little cards. I am in four ATC swaps right now and have one coming back to me in a few days. I finally bought the sports card holders so I can get them all organized and in a binder. Now I just need to find the time to do this..lol.
Peace Out

It's Monday Again

Hey all I was not able to upload any of my cards this weekend but I was able to get some stamping done. I was also able to visit so many of my favorite fellow stamper's blogs I am amazed at the talent out there.

I also signed up for 3 ATC swaps last week and I am so excited!! I am addicted to those little cards. I am in a Vintage Holiday, a Penguin and a $1 stamps swap. I can hardly wait to get started. I also did a trade with one of my fellow SCS gals just sending each other 5 ATCs that we had left over from previous swaps. I hope to do that again soon.

Well that's all for now hope you all have a wonderful week and I hope to get some cards loaded in the next few days.

Take Care,
Debbie
