Happy Friday to you all. I am goingto head straight to my card today because I am not feeling so hot. Have you ever made a card where you kept adding things to make it look just right and then even as you keep adding it never really meets your expectations? Well that would be card.
I was trying to do the sketch challenge from SCS/SC217 but I just could not get things going my way. Oh well as I often tell my dd not every day is a banner day and this card is proof...hehe. Oh but I must tell you about my dh's involvement with this card. Yes you heard right my dh helped me out. Originally the corners were done in black CS and when I showed the card to him he told me it made the card look to dark. You know what he was right....yes there I said it he was right!!! Actually I just thought it was so sweet that he took the time to really look at the card and give me his honest opinion. He supports my stamping addiction and I must say that makes me feel good. March 12th is our anniversary and we will be married 21 years and he is my best friend. Now don't get me wrong we have had our issues over the years but at the end of the day I can not think of anyone else I would rather say good night and I love you to. I am very blessed to have him and my dd.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and take the time to enjoy your loved ones. I hope you also get some stamping time in as well. I appreciate those of you who take the time to stop in here and take a peek. See you tomorrow until then take care.

Peace Out

Always Say Thank You

Supplies: CS-SU Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Old Olive & Basic Black
Stamps: Images SU (retired set sorry) & Word Stamp by Fiskars
Ink: Palette Noir Black
Other: Ribbon & Foam Tape

It's Thursday and you know what that means right? Yes tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!! I can not believe that this month will be over in just a few days. I know I say this every month but what the heck happened and where did this month go. I get the fact that February is a short month but come on already. Well I guess time MARCHES on....he he. Anyway Tuesday is my DH's birthday and then the 12th is our anniversary and THEN my baby girl will be turning 18 on the 22nd of March!!! Agian I say how did this happen? I remember when Chloie was born people would say cherish the time because it goes by fast well I'm here to tell you that truer words were never spoken. We really have cherished and savored every single moment we could and I still look at her and think where did that little girl go? I know in many ways she will always be our baby but she is blossoming into a wonderful young woman and we could not be prouder. She has been pure joy for my DH and me. Ok I have to stop know before I go into the ugly cry I think we will need many boxes of tissue on graduation day if you know what I mean.

Let's talk about today's card it was done for the SCS color challenge or CC207. The colors to use were Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun and Old Olive not as challenging as some of the color challenges can be. I decided for my layout I would still keep the Clean And Simple challenge in mind and I am glad I did because I think it showcases the stamps and ribbon. I love this ribbon and I feel the picture does not do it justice. This is the second spool of ribbon I snatched up from the Container Store for 75% off right after Christmas. I sure wish there would have been more of it but I will try to get by with what I have. I will also will make myself use it and not hoard it just because I do not have an unlimited supply of it....not that I ever really hoard craft supplies...he he.

I hope you all have a great day and get a chance to stop in at SCS to check out todays challenge. Also drop by There She Goes Clear Stamp Store I think Jess will be giving some sneak peeks at her new releases coming out in just a few days. To get to the site just click on the name posted to the right. Also check out Jess's blog as well she always has great cards to share and you can see samples of her projects as well as her design teams projects. See you tomorrow unitl then take care.

It's A Twofer

Supplies: CS-Paper Trey White, SU-Going Green & Apricot Appeal
Ink: Versa Mark, SU Basic Black Craft
Stamp: Hampton Arts
Other: Rubber Bands, Acrylic Block, Trim, Clear Embossing Powder, Felt Flower
Brad & Plastic Chicken Wire (from a pizza box)

Hello and happy Wednesday to you. I am feeling better and I think my MOJO is gradually coming back..lol. I decided to combine both of the Monday challenges from SCS. One is Try A New Technique and Clean And Simple. The background of the card was done using this Monday's technique called Rubber Band Stamping. You were to take an acrylic stamp block wrap rubberbands around it and stamp with it. For those of us who have been around stamping awhile may remember when we took rubberbands and wrapped them around our brayers, ink it up and roll away to make a background. I chose to place the rubberbands a bit more straight and use Versa Mark ink with clear embossing powder for a resist effect. I then used sponges to put the ink on the paper and of course the areas with the resist stayed white. Whew that was challenge #1. I then followed the sketch for the 2nd Monday challenge and Viola a two for one card I just love when that happens :-)

I hope you have a wonderful day and find a little time to stamp and may your Mojo be working well. I will be back tomorrow with the card I made for yesterday's color challenge. I could show it to you today but what would happen if I lost my Mojo again? There would be no card for tomorrow..lol. See you tomorrow.

Peace Out

I am really enjoying this challenge this is the third week and I hope it will be around for a long time. I hope you will stop by SCS and check out this new challenge I must say it is very nice going back to basics some times. Also be sure to make a stop at the There She Goes Clear Stamp Store and you will fall in love with Jessica's sets. Oh Where Oh Where Did My Mojo Go....

Just a quick post to let you know I am still alive and well....ok maybe not so well. I have not been feeling well and my Mojo is no where to be found. I am going to try the SCS CAS3 challenge today (even though it was yesterdays challenge) to see what I can come up with. I hope you will hang in there with me and hopefully I will be up and running with a daily post. Hope you have a wonderful day and happy stamping.

Keep It Simple Silly/ CAS02

Supplies: CS- Paper Trey White
Stamps-SU-Notes For You
Ink:SU-Rose Red
Other: Clear EP, Ribbon SU, Linen Thread SU & Button SU

Sorry this post is late our internet provider went to fiber optics and have been working feverishly to get it done....sooooooooo our internet was down today until the Qwest guy brought us our new box. Wow it is so tiny compared to the old box which is awesome. We are also being told that our speed will be three times faster...um I will believe that when I see it.

This card was done for the additional Monday challenge that has been added at SCS. This was the second week for this challenge which is to go clean and simple with your card. The only true requirement was to use one button and ONE button only. Now I think we all know how many of us LOVE our embellishments especially buttons to this was a bit of a challenge but I did it and I am pretty happy with the results. So I hope you enjoy this card and I hope to be back tomorrow with an earlier time and a new challenge card. I am still working on the Wednesday sketch challenge and I am combining it with the Tuesday color challenge. Wish me luck and have a great day....what's left of it.

Peace Out

Top O'the Mornin' to You

This is a close up of the side of the Box I made a shamrock out of hearts punched from a Martha Stewart multi heart punch. I then put a little green bling in the center

This is a close up of the front of the box. The sentiment came with some DP I have had for a few years (yes I said years....lol). I used the SU Scallop Punch to punch the DP and put it behind the sentiment and again added some green bling...love the bling baby.

Supplies: CS-SU Glorious Green & Green Galore also DP-unknown
No stamps or ink were used on this project
Other: Fiskars Scallop Punch, Martha Stewart Multi Heart Punch, SU-Scallop Circle
Punch, 1&1/4 and 1&3/8 Circles Punches, Piercing Tool, and Medium Cello Bag,
Prima Flowers, Ribbon and Bling unknown and template pattern from SCS

Good morning and a happy Wednesday to you all. Once again this week is flying by and there still seems to be so much to do. I hope you are all having a good week so far. With February being a short month it really seems to be zipping on by. March is a fun but hectic month for us. My DH's birthday is the 3rd, our anniversary is the 12th and my DD's birthday is the 22nd. She will be turning 18 I can hardly say it out loud. My DH and I just adore her and she has been such a joy to raise. I think I have mentioned before that she wants to be a teacher and I think she will make an awesome teacher. We have several friends and family members who are teachers and we have high regard for teachers. We already know you do not get into teaching for the money we believe it is a calling.

Ok enough of this I will get on to this project.
This box was the New Technique Challenge on SCS for this Monday 02/16 and is TLC208 Round Top Box. They gave us a template to print off and then we could decorate the box any way we wanted. I chose to do a St. Patrick's Day theme. I thought I could give this to one of my DD's favorite teachers. Right now I have it filled with a cello bag of green M&Ms. I think because I used the scallop punch behind the saying I would like to add a few Peppermint Patties cover with the scallop punch. This was a very fun and easy project and the box was simple to assemble. Hope you go to SCS and give it a try. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Hello and a happy Wednesday to you all. Please forgive me for not posting the last few days. It was a holiday weekend and we had a lot of family time and no stamp time which is not a bad thing. We are very blessed that my dh, dd and I always enjoy being together. I am impatiently waiting the arrival of my Portable Photo Studio which is a Valentine gift from my loving dh and dd. They are so very supportive of my crafting I am very lucky.

Ok now for my card this was the SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC167) and this week it was especially fun and meaningful. The inspiration that was given came from a site called Artful Bras Project which is a display of different bras created by a quilting group from South Carolina to memorialize those woman lost to breast cancer. The display is meant to raise awareness of breast cancer. I was especially touched because I lost my MIL to breast cancer in 1993. I know she would have gotten such a kick out of this project.

The bra I chose as my inspiration was the Love & Peace by Liz Florom (Click Here). Originally in my mind I wa going in a whole different direction with this but ended up not liking the card. So I went to take #2 and was pretty happy with the results. Taking the photo was a bit tough because of the vellum (which BTW is the Paper Trey Vellum Card Stock...LOVE IT!!!) and the white embossing on it. Also the bra itself was made with DP that had pastel colors. Even with that said I like it (if I don't say so myself.....hehe). I hope you take the time to look at all of the projects. I know these wonderful ladies put their heart and soul into each of these projects and what a better tribute to those lost. Also let this be a reminder to all of us ladies to make sure we get the girl's checked out at least once a year.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and take some time to stamp. I am going to try to combine a few challenges so I can catch up from last week. I wish you all peace, love and good health and please remember that we must ban together to help stamp out breast cancer so not another grandmother, mother, sister or friend will be lost to this disease. Remember early detection is the key to survival. Bless you all.

Peace Out

XOXOXO & A New Challenge

Supplies:CS-SU CS Bliss Blue & DP Paper Pizazz
Stamps-Frog/Colorbox Friendly Forest, Dragon Fly & Lilly Pads/TSG Polka Dot
Hello & Bug Me Anytime
Other: CBEF Large Bubbles, Clear EP, 1" Circle Punch & Foam Tape

Happy Valentine's day to all I hope you all have a wonderful weekend of love. Now I am not just talking about romantic love I am talking about all types of love. Of course if you have a significant other that's nice but if not the love of a friend, neighbor, child, grandchild or even our fur babies. Go out into the world today and give a little love and you will be amazed at how much love comes back to you.

Ok now onto my card (once again I am sorry for the quality of the picture another late night photo shoot..lol). When I first started stamping over a decade or so ago things were pretty simple and basic. It was even hard to find supplies most of the times. If you were lucky enough to find the paper, ink, and a few embellishments you were quite content. Well needless to say the paper crafting industry today is full of more items than one person could use in a life time (although we will give it our best shot to do so). We have even reached the point where some cards are so layered and embellished that they need to be mailed out in a bubble mailer envelope and hand canceled. Soooooooo this Monday on SCS there was an additional challenge added to the regular learn a new technique challenge. It is called Clean And Simple...what a concept...lol we were given two samples of printed fabric for inspiration or you could pick your own pattern. Here is the one I chose

Now don't get me wrong I love learning new techniques but I am a very visual person and unless there is a step by step tutorial to go along with it I can not always figure it out. Hopefully this additional Monday challange will be posted every week even if the day of the week changes. Now I must say this was a bit challenging for me believe it or not because most of the time I am trying to throw in all the bells and whistles when I create a card. My card only uses one layer of card stock and the only layering is the frog, lilly pads, and the flowers and even these items are not popped up to high.

I think this new challenge would be a great way for people to get their feet wet if they have never tried a Split Coast challenge. We all have to start some where and we should not be intimidate by others work but inspired by it. I hope that this new challenge will at least get you to stop by and check out the site and all the other challenges.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope to be back tomorrow with another challenge card from todays SCS challenge. Until then take care and don't forget to tell someone today that you love them.

Peace and Love

Debbie

I don't know what you are talking about...

Supplies: CS-SU Gable Green, Lavender Lace & So Saffron also DP-DCWV
Stamps-TSG Mini Set So Sweet
Ink-SU Basic Black Craft & Clear EP
Tools- Fiskars & Martha Stewart Punches
Other-Cupcake Buttons unknown & Ribbon American Craft

I do not hoard my embellishments (she actually says with a straight face). Ok, ok I like many other crafters will save (ok hoard) our favorite embellishments. It is like the way a squirrel hides away nuts for the winter we tend to save certain favorite supplies for that special project. The problem is we end up storing them away and then forgetting we have them. Why even bring this crafter's secret up well because the SCS challenge yesterday WTC204 addressed this exact thing. So I got out one of my many embellishment cases and found these adorable cupcakes that I have had at least three years....gasp!!! I must confess though I have three and only used two.....he he. I decided to try and use SU CS colors to match the cupcake embellies and I think I got it but it is hard to tell from the picture which I am sorry about the quality I had to take this late last night. I can not wait for that portable photo studio to be delivered. I used one of the TSG mini sets called So Sweet. Jessica sells her mini sets for five bucks!!! I don't know how she does it but I am sure glad she does. Jess you ROCK!!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am having lunch with my dear friend Kathy today we have not seen each other for awhile even though we talk on the phone as often as we can. Kathy is an in home hospice nurse which she is wonderful at. She also cleans homes as well and right now she has been working six days a week I don't know how she does it. I guess in this economy she is very grateful to be working. When we get together we talk about every thing under the sun and always have a good time I know today will be the same. I hope to be back tomorrow with yet another challenge card until then take care.

Peace Out

A Sketch Challenge...I am on a roll....ha ha

Supplies: CS-SU Ruby Red, Garden Green, & Not Quite Navy

Stamps-There She Goes/Flowers of Happiness

Hello I hope today will be a good one for you all and if not just remember tomorrow is FRIDAY & Saturday is Valentine's Day!!! I actually did another SCS Challenge it was the Wednesday's Sketch Challenge or SC215. So a sketch challenge easy peasy right? WRONG I don't know what my problem was but it took me all day (on and off) to get this one done. I knew I wanted to use the TSG Flowers of Happiness set (one of Jess's new release sets please go take a peak at her new release sets) which I LOVE!!! That part was easy. Well I eventually got the ball rolling and I think it came out ok. I used a color combo that I would not usually use but according to my color wheel these colors are suppose to compliment each other. I know because of the embossing the picture has a bit of glare sorry. What do you think? OBTW my DD told me yesterday she ordered a portable photo studio for me so I can not wait to get it. She is so good to me. I had purchased one last year for myself but then decided to give it to my DD's ceramic teacher so he could use it to create power point presentaions for the students. Soooooo hopefully you will see a difference in my photos soon. When I first started putting my cards in my SCS gallery I was scanning them, yes you heard me right scanning what was I thinking....lol. I guess we learn as we go along or at least I hope so.

I hope your day is filled with joy and happiness and that you find a little time to stamp. I will try to be back tomorrow with another challenge card. Hopefully this one will go a little quicker for me...hehe. Take care and see you soon.

Hello hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. Sorry I did not make it in here yesterday to post. My daughter got out of school at 11:00 so I picked her up and we went and had a ladies day out. It was fun we went to lunch, Michael's, JoAnn's and then stopped for a coffee. My precious Chloie (my only child) is going to be 18 next month and I can not believe it. She has grown into such a wonderful young lady and never once has she not wanted to spend time with me or her Dad we are very blessed. She will be graduating high school in May. She decided to attend a Jr. College for the first 2 years. We are pretty sure she will quilify for a full scholarship. Thank goodness with the way this economy is going right now. The other nice thing is we live 3 blocks from the school she will be attending which saves on gas and she can come home if she has time between classes so I get to see her more....he he he.

Ok my card for today is not a challenge card and it really isn't a card in the true sense of the word. It is one piece of Real Red CS and then I layered everything else on top and put a small card on top that opens with the sentiment. It was just a quick Valentine card since we are getting to the end of these cards and will be moving on to the next holiday WOW!!!.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and find a little time to stamp. If you have a chance stop in at Split Coast Stampers and check out the sketch challenge today. That is where I am going as soon as I finish this post so wish me luck because that will be my card to post for tomorrow...lol.
Take care and I hope to be back tomorrow.

Peace Out
Debbie

Hello and happy Monday again I swear lately it seems like the weeks are just flying by and everything is a blur. Silly me I thought things would slow down after the holidays I seem to have that same crazy dream every year...lol.

Today's card is from the SCS Inspiration Challenge IC166 I chose this image as my inspiration Look Here. I really do enjoy the this challenge because the choices are always so interesting and colorful. You can use the items that the hostess picks or go into the site and pick something else if you like. I really should do more of these challenges and if you remember (or not) I was going to try to do the daily challenges on SCS. Well I wouldn't say I do one every day but I am trying to at least do a couple a week. I mean a girl has got to warm up to these things you know.

I hope you all had a good weekend and that the week ahead will be good as well. Even though this week has a Friday the 13th (if you are bothered by that kind of stuff) the good news is Saturday is Valentine's Day the day of amore so be sure to let the people you love know how much you adore them. I don't mean just giving them a candy heart but really, really let them know how much you care. Even though in my house we say I love you several times a day I know I will be showering my DH and DD with even more adoration than normal. Life is shorter than we think and we must always tell those we love (and that includes friends as well) how much we cherish them. I must tell all of you in the stamping community especially those of you who take the time to stop in here that I value your kindness and friendship. I hope you all have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with another challenge card.....WHAT!!!

Peace Out
Debbie

Supplies: Card Stock SU Whisper White and Real Red
Ink SU Basic Black Craft Ink
Other Supplies: corner rounder, colored pencils, clear EP and silver bling Michaels

Good Sunday morning to all hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We are actually have clouds, rain & cold temps (for us anyway) a high of 58 today and I am really enjoying it. I know I know for many of you in cold country this is called Spring but here in Phoenix this is our winter.

I am sorry about not posting for so long I had fallen down the stairs (yesagain) and with my fibromyalgia it really put me in a bad way. Now I know what you're thinking stay off the darn stairs but here are my issues both of our bathrooms are upstairs and my stamping room is upstairs....sooooooooo. Any way here is the second card I did for the ATC Valentine swap. I posted the Vintage ATC already. I wanted this one to be clean and simple. I used a few stamps from the Special Delivery set from There She Goes Clear Stamps(there is a link to Jessica's site on the right side of my blog). Jess is a great gal with wonderful sets, great prices and a rewards program for frequent shoppers. She also has an extremely talented design team so there are a lot of great samples and ideas. Oh and every Sunday she has a Week In Review and if you leave a comment you have a chance to win and pick any card or project that Jess or the DT have made for that week. Really cool huh? When you have a minute stop by and take a look around I am sure you will be glad you did.

Well that is all for now hope you have a great day and that you find some time to stamp this week. I will be back tomorrow with a card from one of the challenges from SCS until then take care.

Peace Out
Debbie

Ink: SU Creamy Caramel & Close to Cocoa
Stamp: SU Antique Collectibles (retired)

Hello everyone I think I have mentioned a few times before how much I love making and swapping ATCs. Here is a photo of the first of two cards I needed to make for a Valentine swap. It was a two fold swap in that one ATC needed to be Vintage and one could be made up of stamped images. I have finished the Vintage and will be finishing up the stamping ATC today and getting them out in the mail (Priority Mail of course cause I like to get the adrenaline rush I get from waiting until the last minute....NOT).

I hope you all have a great day and get to do some stamping today. I will be back tomorrow with a picture of the other ATC so until then take care.

Back In Black SCS LSC204

Supplies: CS Basic Black, Rose Red & Whisper White from SU
Ink: SU Rose Red & Basic Black craft ink
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo and There She Goes verse stamp
Ribbon: Container Store
Other: pearls Michael & clear EP

Hello and happy Monday. Well we watched the game yesterday and it was truly a heart breaker. I must start by saying that it was nothing short of a miracle that the AZ Cardinals even made it to the Super Bowl. Even though we lost I think we really held our own against the Steelers and it made for an exciting game.

Ok onto my card. This was made for SCS LSC204 which was to use black as your base. Now I know I have made cards with a black base before but for some reason this one was just not coming together in fact I am still not sure how I feel about it...lol. Now the ribbon was a whole different story I think it is very yummy. I found it at of all places the Container Store and it was 75% off because it was with the holiday items. I also bought it in black and would have bought more but that was all they had left so I feel lucky that I was able to scoop it up. It is also great because it matches so well with the SU craft ink Rose Red I love when that happens :-).

Today I will be working on some Valentine ATC cards for a swap I am in. One set is a Vintage theme and the other is to be stamped. I will take pics of both and put them on tomorrow. I need to get them in the mail A.S.P. because they are due on Friday. I will have to send them out priority mail and once again I am not happy with myself for waiting until the last minute. Although this time I am telling myself it is because I was so busy with the Cards 4 Kids challenge (which by the way you still have time to participate they are due on the 7th.

Well that is all for now I hope you all have a great week and happy stamping

Peace Out
Debbie
