Another week of challenges fly by...

and I am behind at 365 Cards. This has been another tough week with my Dad he saw his doctor on Monday and the doc decided to try a different medication. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the one to bring him out of this horrible depression he is in. I have also had my own doctors appointments this week and other errands to keep me super busy and away from my stamping table...grrrrrrrrrr.

Well on a brighter note tomorrow is my birthday #53 and I am going out to dinner with my Hubby, Daughter (and her Boyfriend), and Brother for BBQ yummy, yum, yum. I wish my Dad felt up to going but I am hoping by Father's Day we will celebrate with him.

Ok here it is my card for today's Super Sketchy Sunday #13 at 365 Cards. I made this card for one of my Daughter's friends to give to them for his graduation party. Since this last Wednesday she has attended four parties already!!! She has another one to attend on the 13th!!! Of course the thing I am most excited about is that next Saturday the 6th is my Birthday!!! I absolutely love celebrating my birthday and in our house you actually get a whole week to celebrate...Yipee!!!

Ok enough about that I hope you like my card I was so happy that I could do the challenge and make a card for my Daughter's friend. I am also excited because I was able to complete another month's worth of challenges. It is my own personal goal to make a card everyday for 365 Cards. Some weeks are easier than others but so far so good. Today's card will quilify me to be in the end of the month drawing. Can you believe that tomorrow starts the month of June? I can tell you that here in AZ we just have to step outside and we know summer is here even though it is not official on the calendar. I hope you are all have great weather and trying to spend some time outside with your family and friends. I will be back soon with tomorrow's challenge from 365 Cards. OBTW thank you to all who have left messages for me regarding my situation with my Dad. I spoke to him today and he really does sound better so I know there is hope. I am taking him to the doctor tomorrow and we will see what he has to say. Thank you for all your kindness and prayers I do believe they are working.

It was the best of times it was the worst of times that is how I would describe this last week. The best and most important thing that happened was my wonderful Daughter graduated from high school. She was in the Nationla Honer Society so she came in first and also received her diploma before the rest of the student population. The whole ceremony was awesome and my Husband and I could not be prouder.

The bad part of this week was having to attend the funeral services for a dear friend who lost her MIL. It has been a rought couple of months for her and her family. I am also taking care of my Step-Dad trying to help him deal with the aftermath of the divorce from my Mom. He suffers from chronic depresion and he is really not doing well. I will be taking him to the doctor on Monday and hope we can find some answers. His children (my step siblings) want him to move back to Chicago but he does not really want to leave Arizona. He has been here since 1979 and I am sure would not be able to handle the winters back there. The problem is he really should not be living alone and we have no room for him but his daughter does. Keep him and the family in your prayers please. I know we can and will get through this.

Needless to say with all this activity and stress my stamping time was very limited. I knew I had to get busy when I could to get this weeks cards completed and posted. Well I think I have done it. Here are two of the cards and one is a double header...lol.

Well that is all for now I need to post the rest of my cards and get them entered at 365 Cards. I am hoping next week will be a little less hectic and I will have more time to stamp and post. Until then take care and find a little time to stamp something.

Calgon Take Me Away!!!

Hello and happy Tuesday to you all. This is just a short post to let you know that I have not had time to stamp in the last few days. I am taking care of my Dad right now trying to get him back on track. Today is my Brothers B-day and we are going to a Diamond Back's game. Tomorrow is my Daughters High School Graduation Ceremony and than many, many parties. It has been both exciting and exhausting but isn't that how life goes?

I am sorry that I have not been blogging everyday but hopefuly when the dust settles I will be up and running again. Until then please take care and take a little time to stamp something. Challenge #75 Imagine This: Coffee @ 365

For challenge #75 at 365 Cards we were to use a coffee theme. I am involved in a coffee ATC swap and this is what I came up with. The image is from SU (I paper pieced the im0age, the BG texture is from CB and the scalloped diecut was done using Nessties. Last but not least I used amber colored dew drops to finish things off. Hope you enjoy this ATC I love these little cards and love trading them even more.

Challenge #74 Hand Written Sentiment @ 365 Cards

Ok here is another card for challenge #74 Hand Written Sentiment at 365 Cards. I know most of us are not crazy about our own penmanship but this challenge required that we hand write the sentiment. I decided to write mine on a tag in case I made a mistake or just plain did not like it. Needless to say I went through a few tags and I still am not sure about this one.

This card reminds me of a technique that was all the rage awhile back called Collage Montage. My background is done with crayons yes crayons and then you cover your card with a paper towel and use a dry hot iron to remove all the wax and what you are left with is just the pigment from the crayons. Removing the wax makes it possible to stamp over the colors. You can find the video tutorial along with ideas here http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2009/05/13/dots-happybirthday/. This technique was fun and I will try it again with some other shapes and colors. The stamps are from Inkadinkado Flourishes set and Garden Delight set.

Hello to all and Happy Friday!!!

This is my card for challenge #73 Tuesday's Trios at 365 Cards. For this challenge we were to use circles, scallops and bling. This card was made totally with the supplies and instructions from Paper Wishes Personal Shopper. You can find the info here at www.paperwishes.com Most of my cards are made with the supplies from my wonderful box of goodies that come once a month but I usually do my own layouts and sentiments. This time I followed their instructions for this fun and easy shaker card. It was really easier than it looks...no really...lol. I did stamp on the front of the card with the Happy from There She Goes Holidays Galore set.

Musical Monday #72 @ 365 Cards

Happy Friday to all even though this challenge is from Monday at 365 Cards. This is the 72nd challenge I just can not believe it!!! I have enjoyed every single day of challengs in fact it is the first place I go every morning. I hope you like this card the sentiments are from There She Goes. The outside sentiment is from the set called Happy Day and the inside sentiments are from the Holidays Galore. This is a great set because it truly covers every holiday and I love the font. The DP & brads are from Paper Wishes Personal Shopper Kit. I love these kits they are like getting a present in the mail once a month. If you get a chance check out the details at www.paperwishes.com they also have great tutorials and you can find many products in their store.

Hello to all I am so very sorry that I have been MIA. We are running around like chickens without our heads these last few weeks. As I have mentioned before my daughter is graduating from high school on the 27th and wow there is a lot to do.

I will do my best to get my posts caught up. The good thing is I have been able to keep up with the challenges but just don't have time for pics and posts. This card is for the Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards. This is challenge #71 I can not believe it. The set I used is from There She Goes and it is called Happy Day. Hello to all of you wonderful Ladies who pop in on my blog. I am sorry that I have not posted in a few days I am stil not feeling 100%. I told my daughter no worries I do not have the swine flu but I do think I have the piglet flu...hehe.

I want to thank all of you who stop in here and most especially to those of you who leave the awesome and very generous comments. I feel the LOVE right through my screen....lol. I hope to be up and running full speed in the next couple of days. Beside card making we have so many events leading up to my daughter's high school graduation ceremony and I do not want to miss a thing.

Happy May Day to you all. I don't know about you but I am having a hard time flipping the calendar pages lately. I can not believe how fast this year is flying by. Anyhoooo here is my card for today's challenge over at 365 Cards. I am a big believer that age is really only a number. Next month I will be turning 53 and I am like bring it on baby!! I am always greatful when the Lord blesses me with another year. In our house we get to celebrate your birthday for a full week it is awesome.

So I thought for those of you who keep celebrating that 29th birthday this cads for you :-)

This Is What I Am Working On

Good Tuesday Morning to you all. This will be a short post because a have a few appointments to get to today. This is an invitation I am working on for my friend Susan's daughter Amy. She will be coming into town in late May for a baby shower and I offered to make the invitations. I have made 45 so far and I believe that will be enough. I wanted them to be simple but elegant. My Cuttlebug was on fire yesterday...lol. I made all the elements of the card yesterday and today I just have to put them all together.

Hi Stampers I am sorry but I do not have a card to post today. I was not able to do the sketch challenge at 365 Cards yesterday I think I was just tired and my Mojo was running low. 365 Cards End of the Week #55 & #56..whew!!

Hello to all happy Saturday. Well my daughter Chloie (my one and only child) just left for her Senior Prom. She attended Prom last year but she was a Junior. Today she 18 and is a beautiful, sweet, considerate, loving young ladie. I swear I really never took my eyes off of her so I am not sure when this happened...lol. I just adore her she has a very special spirit and a heart of gold. I hopefully will have pictures to share with you all tomorrow. After Prom one of her friend's parents are hosting an after party and the kids can hang out all night if they chose. For those who do stay they will be treated to a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning. I am very greatful for their efforts.

Ok enough gushing cause truly I could go on and on (oops I think I already did...he he). I usually don't put two challenges into one post but needless to say I have bin a wee bit busy the last few days.

The first card is for challenge #55 Card Recipe. We were given a very specific recipe for the card. The CS base had to be 5x5, next a 4x4 DP, one shape that had to be a solid color, 3 jewels/bling and last but not least alpha stickers. I must say it was a little challenging because I tend to over embellish every once in a while...lol.

My second card is for challenge #56 See Through Saturday we had to use clear acetate for the

card base. I used Clear Card Stock from Papertrey and it rock!!! It is thicker than transperencies which gives you a great base and a sturdy card. I believe it takes the inks better too. I used Stazon ink and I think the results were good.

#54 at 365 Cards

Good Frday morning to all. I woul first like to thank everyone who stops by my blog to take a peek and especially those of you who are kind enough to take the time to leave a commentt. :-)

Ok now yesterday's challenge at 365 Cards was to reuse at least one recylable item on your project. I decided to use an old technique (which may be new to some) reusing a small can that usually contains some sort of fruit snack. The can has to have a pop top and a bottom that can be opened with a safety opener (the kind that separates the can's lid but then the lid can be glued back on. This leaves the pop top in tact so the receiver can pop the top.

The can was one of my reusable items, the blue paper is from a bday card my dh received last month and the Celabrate tag is from a soda can. I cut a piece of the soda can and then ran it through my CB using a smal EF. I then colored it with American Crafts markers. I took a picture of what I usually put inside the can. I made up the little poem and basically it can be used for any type of celebration. I hope that you enjoy this project and maybe will give it a try yourself.

I am picking her up after school and going for pedicures which we both love. Tomorrow I will be doing her hair and makeup for her which I so enjoy. I picked her dress up a couple of days ago from the alteration shop and it fits her like a glove. I will post some pictures as soon as I have them. To those of you who have babies or toddlers dont' blink because all of a sudden they are walking up on stage to get their high school diploma. My advice to you is to savor every moment good & bad because these will be your precious memories some day.

Challenge #53 at 365 Cards...Fun With Fruit!!!

Well it's late on Wednesday night and I know for many of you it is already Thursday. We are still in Prom mode here I went to the alterations shop and picked up my daughter's dress it is just gorgeous. This is all so very exciting and my daughter is getting more excited every day. So Saturday is the Prom and the kids will be taken to dinner, then the Prom, and then back home. I had my reservations about the limo but now I realize it is one of the safest way for them to travel.

Yesterday's challenge at 365 Cards was an inspiration challenge based on this awesome picture. I was captivated by the intense color and went with that. I cased a thank you card that was sent to me with my order from Jessca Knutson at TSG Clear Stamps Of course I aske Jess if it was alright to case her and she said any time she is a great friend. Sorry No Cards Yet

Good Monday morning to you all. I must apoligize for not posting yesterday but things are very crazy around here as of late. As I have mentioned before my daughter Chloie is graduating high school in just a few weeks and we are down to the wire to complete her online studies. The Prom is this coming Saturday and she is so excited. We pick up her dress on Wednesday from the alteration shop and Friday we go for pedicures. I am going to do her hair ( I did it last year and it came out well). I can not believe my baby girl and only child is 18 and moving on to another chapter in her life. We could not have asked for a better child God blessed us on the day she was born and the blessings just keep coming. We are so proud of the person she has become she will make a wondeful teacher.

Ok on to the job at hand today's challenge at 365 Cards is an inspiration challenge. We are to use this awesome photo as our inspiration for our card today. The Big 50 at 365 Cards!!!

Yes you heard me right today is the 50th challenge at 365 Cards!!! I don't know where the time has gone but I am really having fun. Score It week may be over but there are still plenty of fun challenges ahead. Tomorrow they will announce the winner of the Scor It scoring pad so stay tuned kids.

#49...What!!! That Went Fast!

Ok this is the last scoring challenge at 365 Cards it was to make an accordian card. The great thing about it is there are quite a few ways to fold and make an accordian card. I used CS that measured 12x5 and then scored at 4 & 8 inches. Easy peasy and then the fun began which was chosing the DP and other goodies. I decided to use ribbong and magnets to keep the card closed it worked out pretty well.

I made this card for challenge #48 at 365 Cards it was to score/emboss a design on to your card. I have to say that these challenges have inspired me to use my Scor Pal more and branch out in my card making. I have had a great time this week and I want to say thank you to the DT at 365. #48 Another Scor-it challenge at 365 Cards

Good Friday morning...yes it's Friday again (not that I'm complaining) it seend as thought the weeks are going by even faster than usual around here. I am sure this has a lot to do with the fact that we are getting our Daughter ready for Prom, Graduation from HS and starting College.

Whew I am getting to old for all of this excitment...lol.

Ok on to my card I did this 3x3 note card for the SCS challenge TLC216. The challenge was to use parts of a soda can on your card. I cut open the can and ran a piece of it through my CB using one of the small EF. I then colored the image with Amercian Crafts markers. I think it came out pretty well and even better is once again stampers use yet another medium to make a card.

Ok I know this is a late post but things have been crazy around here. The good news is we found my daughter a prom dress yesterday!!!!! It is a beautiful dress and she looks amazing in it. It is hard for me to believe that my one and only child is graduating high school but it is true.

WOW!! Day 43 at 365 Cards

Hello I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. My daughter was off Friday and will be off again tomorrow. She and I are going shopping tomorrow for her prom dress so keep me in your prayers...lol.

Today starts a fun week at 365 Cards because all projects will involve scoring in some way. Scor It is one of their sponsers so there are prizes involved so get on over there and check it out. Today's challenge was to make a gift card holder. It was perfect because I needed one for the gift card we gave my daughter today. It is a very simple gift card holder but was fun to make. My daughter loves squares and blue so this was a no brainer for me. I had purchased this paper at JoAnn's a while back and my daughter was with me at the time and loved this pattern. I still have paper left over so I may make a few card holders for future use.

I'm Still Here :-)

Sorry I have not posted since Monday I have not been feeling well. My fibromyalgia is flaring up big time and all I can do is ride the wave until it stops. It is frustrating but wada ya ganna do? I have learned to live with it so to speak. Ok that's enough of that.

Now for my card this is from the challenge at 365 Cards titled That's It I Quilt. Isn't that a cute title? We were given a quilt pattern sketch and you had to come up with your own version of the quilt.

I used some DP but the colors were very soft and this one really looks better in person. It took me a while to do this challenge because I was searching for just the right paper to use.

Oh one more thing don't forget to stop by 365 Cards because this Sunday starts the scoring projects. I can hardly wait to see what they have up their sleeves. I know that I would like to do more projects with scoring so this will be fun I am sure. In the mean time have a wonderful holiday weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Busy, busy, busy

This will be a quick post today because I am dealing with a monster migrane!! Well this may not be my best card but it is truly my busiest...lol. The 365 Cards challenge yesterday was to use chipboard on your card. The letters on this card are chipboard. I also combined yesterday's challenge from over at SCS. The CAS09 challenge was to distress your card and it was left it up to you to decided which method you wanted to use.. I chose to use white pigment ink direct to paper.

It's A Girl!!!

One of my friends has a daughter who is expecting and they just found out it is a girl!! Amy her daughter lives out of state but is coming back home the end of May for a baby shower. I am so excited because I just adore Amy and her husband Joey and I know they are going to be wonderful parents.

I have offered to make the invitations I just love baby showers. I wanted them to be clean and simple because I thought that is what Amy would like. My daughter sent Amy a picture of the invitation to Amy's Face Book and Amy loooooves it....yipeeee!!! I think we need about 40 of these to be ready to mail out around May 1st. Soooooo you know what I will be doing this week...lol. I like to do projects like these in an assembly line fashion which I think makes it easier and quicker. My daughter told me she will help so it should go pretty quick.

This week it took a little thought to wrap my mind around this one but once I got started it was great. Another Week of Challenges at 365 Cards

I can not believe that another whole week has gone by and that once again I completed all of the daily challenges for the week at 365 Cards. I am so grateful to have found this blog and it's growing community. This blog has really helped inspire me every day to actually stamp....wow what a concept huh? Today was an Inspiration Challenge. Above is a picture of the ad we were to use and then my interpritation follows. I was drawn to the white tree pictures and the white cat in the corner but the colors were awesome too.I hope you enjoy my card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Is It Today Or Tomorrow?

Ok being in Arizona we do not change our clocks forward or back so things can get confusing...lol. Especially this time of year when the East Coast is three hours ahead of us. Anywho this is my card for Friday's 365 Cards challenge. The challenge involved using an oval shape on your card and/or make an Easter card.

I decided to try a new technique called faux quilting I saw this in a tutorial on Dawn's blog HERE so drop by Dawn's blog she has so many wonderful tutorials for all different techniques. I didn't use but one oval because I think I got a little side tracked with this card. Oh well I am happy with the result because I tried a new technique and I think that is always a good thing.

Hopefully I will be back here tomorrow (or for some of you today...he he) with another card from 365 Cards challenge blog. I may even stop by there now to see if Saturday's challenge is posted. I guess that is the up side to being behind in time. See ya later.

The Nature of Friendship

Hello and Happy Friday can you believe we are already into the 2nd day of April? I do not know where the time goes but it's going fast. In just a matter of weeks my daughter Chloie will be graduating from high school. I am so proud of the person she has become I know there are great things ahead for her and it will be exciting to watch as she goes from a girl to a wonderful young woman. Ok enough of that I don't want to go into the ugly cry :-0 .

My card for today is one that I made for a full card swap using one of the There She Goes March release sets. The set I used is called Nature of Friendship and it is packed with many options. I hope that you will take a moment to visti Jess's store she just released three new sets and they are wonderful. So take a stroll over to her site Here and I am sure you will fall in love with her sets and be amazed at her prices and wonderful customer service.

Less Is More At 365 Cards & SCS

Well this is the start of a new month at 365 Cards and believe it or not this card is for challenge #33. WOW!!! The challenge requires that you either use the top 1/3 of your card or the bottem 1/3 of your card. Well guess what that means 2/3 of your card is....gulp...just white...lol. I also peeked into the SCS CAS #08 and they had a sketch and the sketch was an actual card and guess what? It only uses 1/3 of the card and the rest was left white. Well whoda thunk?

I decided I would make a small card using my new Sizzix die. I can not tell you how many times I have had this diecut in my hot little hands (many times while either at JoAnn's or Michael's) and then end up putting it back thinking what would I do with it. Well finally last week my dd and I both had JoAnn's coupons for 50% off of a craft item. So I went over to the Sizzix diecut section and had a conversation with myself. "Buy it!!!" "No don't buy it!!!"....well finally my dd came over and said "Mom buy it!!"...how could I not...right? Well I am so glad I did because it has so many possibilities.

Ok I think that is enough rambling for now.

Rounding the Corner 365 Cards Challenge 31

Here are two cards for this month's last challenge. I was able participate in all of this month's challenge. I must run along and get these posted like right now. I had these cards done early today and then had computer problems and was not able to load then until now.

On the second card I also combined the color challenge from SCS to use Pretty in Pink, RidingHood Red & Chocolate Chip. It wasn't as hard to combine this as I thought. I love combining challenges.

Thank you Ladies at the 365 Card blog it has bee a really fun month. I look forwad to tomorrow to start a brand new month of challenges. :-)

We Are Almost There...

So we are in the final stretch to the finish line for the first month's worth of cards over at 365 Cards. I must say this is the most I have stamped since I made the Valentine cards for the Cards for Kids drive. I am having such a great time with this new and fun blog. I sure hope you have had the time to stop in if not what are you waiting for...lol.

My card today is a combo of two challenges. For some reason I was drawing a big blank with the Sunday Sketch and thought I would sleep on it. Well was I glad I did because this morning when I peeked in at 365 I saw the challenge was about using a Ladybug for our inspiration. Well that was all I needed to get my card Mojo going. So here is my card I hope you enjoy it.

Tell Them Some Bunny Loves Them Every Day

Hello and a good Monday morning to you all. I always try to be up beat on my blog but I must tell you that today I am feeling a little melonchaly. Today would have been my youngest Brother's 40th birthday he was 25 when he passed away from a motorcycle accident. He passed away two days after his 25th birthday on April 1st (which also happened to be Good Friday). I was almost 13 years old when Johhny was born and is was just what we need to bring our blended family together. Now I have loved babies even as a little girl and have always understood that they are God's gift to us. I adored my brother and felt we were kindred spirits and we were more that siblings since I helped raise him. Johnny was larger than life and could make you laugh until tears rolled down your face and your stomack hurt. It took him awhile to figure out what he wanted to do with his life but with the help of some very good friends they led him in the direction to go back to school. Johnny was 4 weeks away from graduating from Bryman University and would have been a surgical tech. He was so excited about this vocation and it was the happiest and most excited I had seen him in a long time. Many, many students and instructors came to my brothers funeral all with wonderful stories to tell. This was such a blessing form me, my brother Don and most of all my Parents.

We had also lost my MIL to breast cancer about five months prior to losing my brother. Needless to say we were still grieving her loss when my Brother passed. Some times tragedies like these can break a marriage apart but for my wonderful Husband and me it brought us closer together which I believe was God's grace.

So today I will raise a glass in honor of my brother on the anniversary of his 40th birthday and try to spend my day remembering all the good times and laughter I shared with Johnny. I also want to remind you all that it is very important to tell those that are important to you that you love and appreciate them because we just never know what the future will bring. I will leave you with one of my Brother's favorite sayings...Life is uncertain so eat dessert first...great words to live by...lol.

Ok enough of my ramblings onto the fun stuff. I was in an ATC swap at SCS which theme was Hoppity Easter. I made this bunny ATC because I just fell in love with this little bunny. I feel like he is peeking out to see if Spring is here yet. I paper pieced the flower pot and also cut out the bunny image and popped it up. I tried to go more clean and simple this time. Of course no bunny would be complete without a basket to carry their eggs in. I found the tutoiral HERE and the great part is no cutting just scoring and using a 6X6 DP. I should have put something in the basket when it was photographed but I was in a hurry as usually to get these pictures taken.

Another 365 Challenge...Scrap Lift Yourself

Ok this is the last challenge for this week at 365 Cards. The challenge is to take a scrap layout and use it to inspire a card. I do not do a lot of scrapping but I had this 6 X 6 page that I made quite a while ago. This is a picture of my daughter Chloie holding her cousin Brianna. The girls are now 18 and 16 where does the time go.

I decided to use the same stamp set that I used on the scrap page because it is a set that I always enjoyed using. I decided to use SU craft ink and emboss the images. I also popped a few images up with foam tape. As I said this is the last of the weeks challenges at 365 and I am looking forward to the Super Sketchy Sunday tomorrow. Touchy Feely Friday/ 365 #27

This card was done for the challenge at 365 Cards which was to have three different textures on your card. I put the main element of the card (black CS) in a CB EBF ( large bubbles folder) and then made a medallion (I used the foil seal from a can of frosting) with a CB EBF (gift folder) and lastly I used some glittered DP from DSWV. I added some awesome ribbon as a finishing touch.

I really had fun making this card

I love to have a lot of textures and layers on my cards . I also love the fact that every day I know there will be a great challenge at the 365 Cards blog and it encourages me to make a card for each day of the week. The DT is doing a wonderful job. Color Me Anything But That

Hello and happy Friday to you all. I am in Arizona so it is almost 5:30 here but with the time change I know it is much later for many of you. I am behind again in posting but at least I am stamping..lol.

I did this card to 365 Cards challenge #26 which was to make a card with a color or colors that you normally wouldn't be your first pick. I chose SU Eggplant Envy not because I don't like it but because sometimes I get into a rut with colors. I also combined this challenge with the SCS challenge WT211 which was to use a technique that involved an iron (yes I said iron...yikes!). Anyhow I used the wax paper resist technique but first I used my CB EBF. Then I used a couple of daubers to put ink on the embossed CS. The stamp set I used was TSG Butterfly Happiness this is another set I love because the images and sentiments are wonderful. I hope you enjoy my card and I will be back later (or tomorrow ) to post today's 365 Challenge which is to have at least four different textures on your card. I think that sounds like fun we will see.

Last but not least is today's challenge at 365 which is Ad Inspired. I was also able to combine this challnge with the SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge #221. I know we all like to be able to combine challenges. I especially like to combine a sketch challenge with another becasue the sketch already gives you the layout which usually can make the project go faster.

Ok this is challenge #23 at 365 Cards. It was so fun to do they gave us the crossword puzzle and we had to use it on our card. I decided to put the puzzle inside my card and then make a window so just the LOVE would show. I am not very good with a craft knife but since the paper had lines it made it a little easier. I am trying to do techniques that are a little out of the box for me. I hope you like how this turned out I was pretty pleased with it.

I feel like the rabbit from Alice in Wonder Land.....I'm late, I'm late for a very important date....he he. I know I did not post for a few days but I was working on the challenges at 365 Cards. I just did not get around to taking the pictures.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my daughters 18th birthday. What a milestone birthday and graduation is just a few months away in May and then college starts in August. Again I am wondering how did we get here so fast.

Lean On Me...365 Cards #21

Wow I can not believe that we are on challenge #21 at 365 Cards. Todays challenge is called Lean On Me and is based on the Bill Withers song Lean On Me. We were to make a card inspired by the lyrics.

As soon as I saw this challenge I knew I would use my new set of TSG stamps (you can click on the name on my side bar) called Nature of Friendship. Just like all of TSG's sets this one has many stamps (25) and many, many posibilities. I also put this card together in record time for me anyways because we are taking my daughter out for a pre-birthday breakfast. We are then going shopping for a new shirt for her to wear tonight when she gets together with her friends.

Yes that is what I said #20 Inside Out. We were challenged to keep the outside of the card simple and jazz up the inside including the sentiment. I have had problems with my computer so this is a little late since I know in some places it is already Saturday....lol.

Triple Crown of Stamping

Hello to all hope you are having a great day. The best news is tomorrow is Friday and my dh and dd will be home. We will begin my daughter's birthday week by taking her out to breakfast. Saturday she will be bowling and then pizza and of course cupcakes with a few of her friends. Sunday is her actual birthday and we are taking her to the cheese cake factory for dinner.....yummy!!!

Ok now for this card I could not believe I was able to combine three challenges for this card. The first challenge was SCS CAS #6 which was to use an image as an inpiration. The second challenge was SCS Sketch Challenge SC220. Last but not least the 365 Cards #19 was to make a birthday card without a sentiment but still convey it is a birthday card well I think this card fits the bill. It is not often that challenges can be combined but I hit the jackpot on this one.

I hope to be back tomorrow hopefully with the card for the 365 Cards challenge 20. Wow these challenges have been moving quickly but so far I have been able to do them all each week. Wish me luck and I will do my best. Take care and take a little time to stamp.

Keeping It Green With 365

Good morning everyone I hope you are having a great day. I am busy getting ready for my daughter Chloie's 18th birthday....WHAT!!!! I am not kidding I do not know where the time has gone. She will be starting college in the fall and moving on to the next stage of her life. Chloie is our only child/young adult and we could not have asked for a better one. She and I are kindred spirits but she always remembers that I am the Mom and she is my Daughter which has always worked out quite well....lol. She also knows that her Dad and I will always be her soft place to fall no matter how old she is. Chloie wants to be a teacher and we all believe it is her calling. We have found in our school experience that the great teachers are the those who are called to it and follow their heart. I am sure no matter what grade she choses to teach she will be awesome. Now that said I am pulling for an elementry school teaching job because I want to volunteer in her class. I so miss the days of carnivals, cupcakes and & field trips. To all the Moms out there who still have little ones treasure every moment no matter how exhausting

they may be. I promise you that some day you will be looking back and missing all the wonderful times you had. Ok I have rambled enough and I am getting a little teary eyed.

My card today is for yesterday's 365 Cards challenge #19 Keeping It Green. I love the bright greens so that is what I went with ( even though I am not sure if the green looks green in the picture). I am having so much fun with these challenges and this is the most stamping I have done in a very long time. I am getting to the point where I must pack them up and send them to Pat (Rubbermaid ). Pat was the wonderful woman who asked us to send her Valentine cards to give the Children's Hospital in Michigan. She also needs cards year round some for the kids and some for them to send out to their family members for birthdays and such. What a great gal and a wonderful cause.

Happy Sunday to all I hope you are enjoying what is left of this weekend. I am sorry for my last few post in that they do not include the deets for the cards. I had a wild week but I was able to do all the challenge cards at 365 cards. The only problems I had was having the time to take pics and then post my creations so I could link them to 365 Cards to meet their weekly dead line. So with the help of my lovley daughter we got it done. We literally brought my laptop to our friends house (where we were having dinner) so we could get the cards posted. I know some times our stamping addiction takes us to strangs places...lol.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful week. My daughter is on Spring break this week and then her 18 birthday is a week from today (that is her picture on the card I made) wow where has the time gone? I will try to be better about posting the deets this week and try to stay on top of things. Happy Friday I hope you all have been able to find time this week to stamp. It has been crazy around here. I was able to finish a swap I was working on in which we used any There She Goes stamps and it was an ATC swap so I loved doing it. I can not wait to see what I get back. I am now working on an ATC swap called Hoppity Easter. It will be fun coming up with cards using Spring colors and images.

This card was made for the 365 Cards blog challenge #11 which was to use 5 different patterned papers and at least 5 embellishments. It was challenging but also quite fun. I used a pad of papers Deja Views that I had received from a Sister on SCS. I love the richness of the colors and patterns. Hello to all and Happy Thursday I am so sorry I have been MIA but this has been a crazy week. My daughter Chloie is graduating high school and also getting every thing in order for college and this is keeping all three of us very busy. I do not know where the time has gone. Today is my 21st wedding anniversary and my loving husband and I are going to the Cheese Cake Factory for dinner tonight just the two of us. I am so blessed to be married to my best friend and someone who has supported me in my addiction to stamping as well as every thing else. We have been through a lot of ups and downs over the years but it has always brought us closer together. I hope we will have many more years of marriage ahead of us.

Ok now onto the cards the good news is that I have been keeping up with the 365 Cards blog challenges I just have not had time to post them. I also did the Monday SCS CAS #5 which was to use shades of blue and green. This challenge is all about keeping it Clean And Simple which in these days of layering and embellishing is a breath of fresh air. I will try to spread out the cards over the next couple of days as not to bore anyone...lol.

It's A Dirty Job.....

...and I have to do it. Just a quick post to let you know that I should be back later with a couple of cards. I have nothing yet for today because I spent yesterday cleaning up my stamping area. This is the down side to card making but I treat it like an archeological dig because you never know what you will find under all those scraps of paper, ribbon, etc. Some supplies I had given up ever finding again...lol. Any way hopefully I will get a few cards made today I am working on challenges #8 & #9 at 365 Cards (there is a link on my sidebar) and I am going to try to combine one of them with SCS challenge CAS #5 So wish me luck.

Hello and happy Friday hope you are all doing well and are planning some fun for the weekend. Have I mentioned the new blog called 365 Cards? That is what I am working on right now.

My card today is challenge #4 from 365 Cards which was to find inspiration in an advertisement. I chose this bed set from Target. Normally I would not use this color combo which is exactly why I chose it I mean this is suppose to be a challange right? This was a really fun card to make and I think it turned out pretty well. Good Morning I hope your day is going well. I am going to get right to this card so here we go. This is an ATC for one of the swaps I'm doing using TSF stamps. This is done with one of the mini sets which I have mentioned before are such a bargain at $5. This little set contains three images and two sentiment stamps. I chose to use this cute little bee and one of the sentiments on this ATC. I am in another swap for TSG which we are making full size cards. The hardest part is deciding which wonderful set I should use.

Now for my card. Yesterday was my wonderful hubby's birthday and I made this card for him. I know that many of us usually sturggle with masculine cards and this card was no different. I dug into some of the books that I have had for at least a decade from Hot Off the Press which contain both card ideas and the supplies to make them. The books have wonderful DP and other paper embellishments that can be cut out and used to make a quick and usually easy card. I found this great piercing template made of paper and thought it would be perfect for my DH's card. I am happy with the results and my he was quite impressed with it as well.

The bonus of this card is it meets challenge #3 on 365 Cards Blog which was to use ribbon, a bow & a button) as well as challenge CAS #4 on SCS which required accenting with dots using either a pen or paper piercer. Don't you just love it when that happens?

Good Monday morning to you all and I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am sorry I did not post this weekend but this was the start of my DH's birthday week. That's right I did say birthday week. In our house you get to celebrate you birthday for a whole week I mean come on it only happens once a year. I know there are those who dread their birthdays every year but not around here we celebrate with gusto. This weekend we celebrated with my friend, her DS and DH. Her DH has the same birthday as my DH so we always get together to celebrate.

My card today was from last weeks SCS Limited Supplies Challenge/LSC209. We were to make our own DP/background paper and you also had to use the same stamp set for the whole card including the sentiment. Well I chose one of my very favorite sets from TSG Clear Stamps called Flowers of Happiness. This set has so many stamps and endless uses I just love it. Be sure to stop over and check out this set as well as the new releases. Jess is doing such an awesome job with the sets she offers as well as her great prices. Happy Friday to you all. I am goingto head straight to my card today because I am not feeling so hot. Have you ever made a card where you kept adding things to make it look just right and then even as you keep adding it never really meets your expectations? Well that would be card.
I was trying to do the sketch challenge from SCS/SC217 but I just could not get things going my way. Oh well as I often tell my dd not every day is a banner day and this card is proof...hehe. Oh but I must tell you about my dh's involvement with this card. Yes you heard right my dh helped me out. Originally the corners were done in black CS and when I showed the card to him he told me it made the card look to dark. You know what he was right....yes there I said it he was right!!! Actually I just thought it was so sweet that he took the time to really look at the card and give me his honest opinion. He supports my stamping addiction and I must say that makes me feel good. March 12th is our anniversary and we will be married 21 years and he is my best friend. Now don't get me wrong we have had our issues over the years but at the end of the day I can not think of anyone else I would rather say good night and I love you to. I am very blessed to have him and my dd.

Always Say Thank You

It's Thursday and you know what that means right? Yes tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!! I can not believe that this month will be over in just a few days. I know I say this every month but what the heck happened and where did this month go. I get the fact that February is a short month but come on already. Well I guess time MARCHES on....he he. Anyway Tuesday is my DH's birthday and then the 12th is our anniversary and THEN my baby girl will be turning 18 on the 22nd of March!!! Agian I say how did this happen? I remember when Chloie was born people would say cherish the time because it goes by fast well I'm here to tell you that truer words were never spoken. We really have cherished and savored every single moment we could and I still look at her and think where did that little girl go? I know in many ways she will always be our baby but she is blossoming into a wonderful young woman and we could not be prouder. She has been pure joy for my DH and me. Ok I have to stop know before I go into the ugly cry I think we will need many boxes of tissue on graduation day if you know what I mean.

Let's talk about today's card it was done for the SCS color challenge or CC207. The colors to use were Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun and Old Olive not as challenging as some of the color challenges can be. I decided for my layout I would still keep the Clean And Simple challenge in mind and I am glad I did because I think it showcases the stamps and ribbon. I love this ribbon and I feel the picture does not do it justice. This is the second spool of ribbon I snatched up from the Container Store for 75% off right after Christmas. I sure wish there would have been more of it but I will try to get by with what I have. I will also will make myself use it and not hoard it just because I do not have an unlimited supply of it....not that I ever really hoard craft supplies...he he.
