4077 MASH....That is All

Short and late post today because I have been having bad headaches. I think I may have a sinus infection....aaaaaaaacccckkkkk. Oh well any way this is a card I made for a friend who is a big fan of MASH. Funny thing is my 17 year old dd has been a fan for a long time also. I had fun making it even though I think my letter and number stickers are a little slanted....he he.

I hope I will be feeling better soon because I need some cards to post..lol. Have a great week!!!

A Better Picture?

I was not completely happy with the first pic of this card because you could not see the clear glitter/snow under the tree. I am not sure if this pic is any better but it its what it is.

Hope you all have a great weekend and that you find a little time to stamp.

Take Some Snow, A Hat, A Carrot....Well You Know

Snowman ATC

Supplies: CS-SU Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black
Ink SU
Stamp: SU
Ribbon: Black Velvet-Michael's
Misc: Snowflake Brad, Clear and Blue Bling Square Punch Scallop Punch and CBEF
Swiss Dots
Photos taken by Chloie

Good Thursday Morning to everyone. What is it about snowmen that make us all go aaaawww? There are a vast number of images and the creative choices are unlimited. Is it that they bring back our childhood memories of playing with our friends and family in the snow and the crisp cold air. Is this when our creativity started with endless possibilities? I am not totally sure but no matter if they are perfect or goofy looking we all seem to love snowmen.

I made this ATC for a swap I am in. The hardest part of doing a snowman card is deciding which image to use because I have collected so many of the years. From lone snowmen to groups of snowmen I love them all. This image is from SU and I like his shape and the wonderful smile on his face. The other reason I chose him is because he is the perfect size for an ATC. This card is my sample I am backing the finished swaps with BB CS to add a bit of a frame and make the RR pop. I hope you like this card and it makes you smile.

Here in Phoenix we do not get snow so I have seen people build snowmen (or the likeness of) out of tumble weeds. It is quite the site but cute all the same. If you live in cold country I hope that you will get out with your children this winter and build at least one snowman. Heck even if you don't have children get yourself out there and make some memories. Oh and don't forget the snow angels. Have a great day and I will see you later.

All That Glitters ATC

Supplies: CS-SU

DP-Unknown

Stamp & Ink-SU

Flower Punch Large-SU

Ribbon-SU

Misc.-Paper Piercer, Pink Floss, Dymo Label Maker, Small Flower punch, ' 1/4" punch Circle Punch' 'Buckle Punch' & Clear Tape

Technique-Glitter Window

Hello again everyone hope you are having a wonderful day. My card today is another ATC (told you I was addicted) from a swap a I did called All That Glitters. I used the Glitter Technique see tutorial at SCS: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/glitter_window/ for the punch out of the large flower and then used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter from SU. I really love the sparkle this gives to a card and it is a very simple technique that requires a minimum of supplies On my sample card I pierced and stitched the top and botten but on the final cards for the swap I used pink bling instead. Many times I end up changing my mind after making my sample card because I feel the cards need a little some thing else. Isn't that the beauty of stamping and creating? I must admit though that some times I do not know when to stop...lol.

I hope that you will think about trying a new technique even if it is not this one. It is always good to learn something new and to challenge ourselves. What do you have to lose? If you want try the technique on a piece of scrap paper as to not waste your CS. Have a great day and don't foreget to follow your dreams.

Time Keeps On Slipin', Splipin', Splipin' Into The Future

Flower Power
Supplies: CS-SU
DP-unknown
Other Supplies-Silk Flowers, Corduroy Brad, SU Piercing Mat and Tool, Gel Pen and
Square Punch.

Hello and Happy Monday. This is a card that I made a while ago and it was one of those quick, quick cards made mostly with scraps. I do not remember the exact size but it is a square card which I really enjoy making. I also enjoyed the piercing which I think in this case I did free hand and it gives a more hand made look as oppose to having the perfect rows that come from using a template. I used a gel pen to give a faux stitch look.

My title today refers to the fact that I have not been able to find time to stamp the last few days (with the exception of a quick 3x3 gift card). This is the reason I had to post a card I made a while ago. I have a swap that must, must be done today so I must, must make time to get it done today...lol. I hope that you have been able to find time to stamp in the past few days and that you will be able to find the time today. Have a great day.

Yummy, Yummy Cupcakes

Cupcake ATC swap
Supplies: CS-SU
Ink: Versamark
Ribbon: Michael's
Stamp: SU
Bling: unknown
Other: Liquid Applique, Paper Crimper, SU scallop punch

Good Sunday morning to all. I woke up this morning to a very rare site in my neck of the woods CLOUDS. We do not get very many cloudy days here so I must say when we do they are very welcomed especially during those long hot relentlessly sunny days of summer. I must say though even this time of year we welcome the clouds. It makes me feel like sleeping in, baking, cooking up some homemade soup, and curling up with a good book. I grew up in the Midwest and never thought I would be saying that I love a cloudy day...lol.

Well I have another ATC card for you today from a swap I did awhile ago. The theme was any thing cupcake. At the time I did not own a cupcake stamp (I know gasp!!!) but never fear now I probably own to many (as if that could be possible..he he). So I had to make a pattern and the little cupcake on this ribbon inspired me. In fact it inspired me all the way through this project right down to the frosting on top which is Liquid Applique. Instead of heating the LA I let it air dry and it dries to a glossy finish. If you have not worked with this wonderful and versatile product give it a try. If you use your heat gun to dry it, it puffs up and looks like snow, frosting, popcorn, etc. Or you can as I did let it dry on it's own and it dries to a wonderful glossy finish. It is hard to see but I used my paper crimper on the cupcake paper base and then sponged some ink to highlight the ridges. I really had a great time creating this little card (all ten of them).

Whether it is sunny or cloudy where you are today I hope you make the most of this day. I hope you will be able to find the time to stamp some thing. I am hoping to finish some of the SCS challenges I started but did not finish from this last week. I am having lunch with my dh, dd, and a very good friend today which I am really looking forward to. Have a great day.

Let's Do The Polka.....Dot That Is

Polka Dot ATC Swap
Suppplies: CS-SU
Stamps-Inkadinkado
Ribbon-Michael's
CBEF-Swiss Dot
Pearls-unknow

Happy Saturday everyone hope all is going well for you. This card is from an ATC swap I did with some SCS gals last month. I think it is obvious that the theme was Polka Dots which I love. As I have said before I just love, love, love these little cards. They are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 so it is a great way to use up all your scraps and as I mentioned in my last post you can get 10 cards from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of CS. All I can say is that if you have not tried them you need to give it a go I don't think you will be sorry you did other than the fact that you may become addict like I did....lol.

I went to JoAnn's today because I had a 50% off coupon to use up. Well all the stamping and scrapbook supplies are on sale. I purchased corner punch from EK success, a 1' Fiskars circle punch (I just love their squeeze punches so easy on your hands), a Sizzix holiday die cut that has a penguin, a reindeer and an angel, and the I found some sticky felt snowflakes in the $1 bin. The cashier said I saved $34 and I didn't even have to use my coupon. Talk about a great day to shop...lol.

Well that's all for now I am headed upstairs to my stamp room and get started on my ATC swap cards. I am in four swaps right now and need to get busy but because they are small they do go pretty fast. Take care and happy stamping to you all.

Peace Out,

Debbie

I'm Addicted....to ATCs

ATC Card Supplies: Stamps-Bella and SU
CS-SU
Markers-SU
Ink-Versamark & SU
Sticker Bling-dollar bin JoAnns

From the very first time I made these wonderful little cards I was hooked. For those of you who may not know ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards and they have been around for quite a while in the artistic world and then made there way into the stamping community. I have been in several swaps with these little gems and I am now very addicted to creating and trading them. I think the best part of these cards is being able to get 10 of them from one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 CS see this tutorial here http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/tcdiag.htm . Another plus is that making them is a great way to use up all those scraps of paper you have been stashing away like a chipmunk stashes away his acorns. I urge you to give these little babies a try and I think you will really enjoy them. They are easily stored in sheets made for storing baseball cards and can then be put in a three ring binder.

The ATC card I have chosen to show you today is from a Bella holiday swap I did last year with my friends from SCS/CC. I did not have any Bella stamps so my friend Amanda stamped this image for me so I could participate in this swap isn't that sweet. I received some wonderful Holiday ATCs in return in this swap.

I hope that if you have not tried this type of card I have at least planted the seed to do so. No matter what you chose to do just have fun. Have a great weekend and happy stamping.

Peace Out
Debbie

If You Build It Hopefully They Will Come

Well I finally built myself a light box from white 12 x 12 CS and I think it helps make my pics a little better. I do not have the best digital camera in the world but it will do for now I guess. I know I have seen some awesome pics of cards on other blogs and come to find out they have some pretty pricey equipment. Well maybe some time in my future I can look forward to that..lol.

I will give you the deets later on this card but I do want to let you know that the silver disc is made out of the top of a can of peanuts run through my CB using a smal EB. I had heard of others using this technique and was amazed at the results when I tried it. I had to put the card at an angle so not to have the flash blur the image I hope you can see the details and how shiney it makes the silver foil look. If you click on the card you can see a larger image and see the details better.

Well that is all for today I am working on the sketch challenge from yesterday at SCS. For some reason I was blocking yesterday and just could not finish the card. Hopefully I will finish it today and post it tomorrow. I had not done the challenges on SCS for quite a while and I am happy to start back up again it is always so much fun. Hope you can find time to stop in and give them a try or a least find the time to stamp some thing. Have a great day.

SCS Challenge CC191

Supplies: Stamps There She Goes-Branching Out
CS-SU-Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red
Ribbon-American Crafts
Misc-red bling, pink dew drops, CBEF & photo corner die

Ok I said I would post again today to show you what I did with the SCS challenge CC191. This is the color challenge and the colors that were called for were SU's Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red.

I wanted to make a holiday card and as I was looking at the Branching Out stamp set from There She Goes http://thereshegoesstore.com/default.aspx I thought the tree branch stamp turned upside down looked like a Christmas Tree stand. Soooooooo I gave it a try and I also used the regular leaf stamp because I thought the top leaves looked like a star. As I built the Christams tree I did not ink the last two leaves so I could stack the stamp three times and have it look like a Christmas tree. I love when you can take a stamp meant for one thing and use it in a completly use it in a different way.

I hope you like this and it will inspire you to take a look at some of your sets that have been lying around and give them a spin in a different directions.

Peace Out
Debbie

IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Supplies: CS SU really rust, old olive & tempting turquoise. Wire SU. Ribbon from Michael's. Flowers shrink plastic. Brads unknown. Tools CB BGF & Sizzix Flower Die.

Well it is finally over and I believe it does matter if your candidate won or not it is time for us to come together as a country and begin the healing process. May God bless us and give our new leader the wisdom to lead us as a country and a people to better times.

Ok on to more fun things like stamping...lol. I did the SCS color challenge yesterday but need to snap a pic so I will post it later today. The card I posted today I made a few months back and sent to an SCS friend. I used shrink plastic which I forget some times how much fun it is to use and it is also an inexspenive way to make your own embellishments. I used my CB and a Sizzix die that had small and large flowers on it. I colored the flowers with chalk before shrinking. I put brads in the center of the flowers after shrinking. Just remember to punch any holes you need before shrinking. I also used colored wire that I wrapped around a chop stick to give it a finished look. I used the SU scalloped punch then stamped my sentiment on it and then shrunk it as well. This card was much better to see in person sorry for that.

I really had fun using the shrink plastic and if you have some in your stash pull it out and give it a go. If you have never tried it give it a try it is fun and easy. You can usually find it at your local craft store. OBTW I used my heat gun to shrink the plactic but you can also follow the instructions that come with the shrink plastic and shrink it in the oven. Have fun and have a great day.

Peace Out

Make It Count

Supplies: CS BB & RR from SU, sentiment stamp unknown, ribbon Michael's, SU punch, various embellie and Pop Rocks candy.

I am not one to discuss politics normally but today all I will say is if you are 18 years old or older please get out and VOTE. It is not for me to know who you vote for but I ask you to just do it. We live in a FREE COUNTRY where we have the right to vote for who we chose and we must put our faith in the system even if things don't always turn out the way we had hoped. And hey if nothing else you can get a free doughtnut at Krispie Kreme and a free cup of coffee at Starbucks aah only in America...lol.

Have a great day and I hope you find a little time in this long and crazy day to stamp.

Peace Out

I Need Better Photos

Supplies: sentiment stamp SU, floral stamp unknown (was sent to me by SCS friend), CS blk SU, pink cs unknown, ribbon
Michael's, embellies unknown.

Good Monday morning to you all. First of all I apologize for the pictures of my cards I know they are not of the best quility. I need to make a photo booth for myself and I am not quite sure why I have not yet. I don't think this photo shows the wonderful contrast of the black and pink which is a combo that I love. I hope to have better pictures for you in the near future.

I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying the wonderful fall weather. Here in Phoenix that means temps in the 80s and 90s and trust me we are more than gratfeul. Since we do not have the change of Seasons here it seems that the Holiday Season sneaks up on us without warning. I was in Michael's yesterday and they were in the transition from Fall to Winter. Oh my it was quite the mess in there but of course that did not stop me from roaming aroung. I often feel sorry for the employees of the craft stores it seems like any more we roll right from one holiday to the next with out any time in between.

Well that is all for today and I hope to be back tomorrow with some better pictures. Hope you all have a wonderful week and you get to stamp and do some challenges. Until next take care.

Peace Out

Debbie

Time to Move On

Here are two of the six cards I made for a friend on SCS who does not always have time to make cards but likes to send hand crafted cards to friends. I had a good time making these. I had a 6 X 6 stack of cordinating DP with matching sayings, letters and embellies. I added a few embellies and ribbon of my own. I was pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Wow it is time to flip the page on your calenders and turn back the clocks. I can not believe Halloween is over. We are now onto the next holiday...gobble, gobble. I must say I do so enjoy Thanksgiving it is such a wonderful time and holiday. Time to give pause, give thanks, and enjoy wonderful food with our family and friends. With all that is going on in the world right now I think we need to gve thanks for all our blessings every day. Yes even on your worse day I am sure you can find something to be grateful for.

That's all for now I hope you have a wonderful fall weekend. Oh and don't go sneaking around in your childs stash for all the good candy....he he.

Peace Out,

Debbie
